Lapped by the Andaman Sea, Krabi embraces spectacular nature, dazzling coral reefs, virgin beaches and towering limestone formations. Once dominated by fisherman and farmers, this small town is slowly making its mark in the MICE scene, attracting organisers and companies seeking a destination for small- and medium-scale incentive trips and corporate meetings.
IHG makes a MICE stand in Krabi with Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach and Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang Beach. At each property, a dedicated events team assures that your event goes off without a hitch.
Things to do in Krabi
This coastal province abounds with countless natural attractions that never fail to impress visitors. Apart from bleached-blonde beaches and azure waters, Krabi also has caves and unspoiled islands waiting to be explored. Throw in excellent scuba diving and rock climbing and much, much more.
Hong Islands, belonging to the National Marine Park, are four unspoiled islands within the Koh Hong archipelago. These islands can be reached within 20 minutes from Ao Nang by speedboat, or 45 minutes by long-tail boat. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Phang Nga Bay, with its countless rocky outcrops, the islands are rightly considered to be among the most beautiful in Krabi.
Fossil Shell Beach
Fossil Shell Beach, some 17 kilometres west of Ao Nang, was once a large freshwater swamp, home to a particular variety of snail which lived in the Tertiary Age about 40 million years ago. These snails lived and died by the millions, their shells forming a fossilised layer upon the rocks.
The clear tropical waters surrounding Krabi is home to some of the region’s most vibrant marine life. Dive sites include the local islands in Ao Nang Bay, the Phi Phi Marine National Park, King Cruiser Wreck Site and Shark Point Marine Sanctuary.
Hot Springs Waterfall
Southeast of Krabi Town is the Hot Springs Waterfall, where visitors bathe in natural hot tubs with waters that heat up to as much as 50 degrees Celsius. These waters cascade down the boulders before dipping into a cool stream.
Khao Nor Chu Chi Wildlife Sanctuary
A 10-minute drive east of the waterfall, the Khao Nor Chu Chi Wildlife Sanctuary is said to be the last patch of lowland rainforest in Thailand. It's also one of the few habitats of an endangered bird called Gurneys Pitta.
Krabi’s dramatic limestone cliffs offer some of the best rock climbing in the country. Mostly located on the Railay Bay Peninsula, these sea-facing climbing routes involve crags, steep pocketed walls, overhangs and hanging stalactites, and are suitable for both beginners and professionals.
